Buzz, coverage and more people joining up!

The release of Immunet Protect seems to have taken on a life of it's own. Without any prompting we are seeing strong user adoption (about 1 new user is joining the cloud every 2 minutes!) and a wide variety of media/blog coverage, which is probably driving some of the adoption. There has been a great deal of coverage but some of the recent coverage I have read (and I am not attempting slight anyone, I have not read it all) which bears mention would be:

• Ars Technica - Former Symantec exec launches cloud-based, social antivirus
• The Tech Herald - Review: Immunet Protect 

 Those are from today, there have been many others which we attempt to list the Press section here and on the Immunet main website.

In addition to seeing a tide of users we are also starting to see some very curious in-field data. Over the last 24 hours nearly 10% of our user-base  experienced and blocked a virus. About 50% of those blocked viruses were stopped by Immunet. The average user who sees a virus in the community is generally experiencing 2 threats, typically back to back. Now we also have some serious outliers here, like 2 users with detection counts over 300 each! These are presumably folks testing our product which, if the conviction counts mean anything, seemed to do quite well .The caveat here is that all of this data is pretty new and needs allot more review. The numbers I gave here are 'back of the napkin' but still look pretty interesting, look for more of this data to follow once we've had a chance to really sift through it. 

We are pushing hard for a new release of the product primarily focused on bug fixes which we have surfaced during this part of the beta. Hopefully we will be able to post something about it in the next couple of days.
